ZOEY VAN JONES

Founder/Eyebrow & Makeup Artist

What do you get when you mix a masters degree in fine art, a rock-n-roll personality and an expertise for shaping eyebrows? Meet Zoey Van Jones. She first crafted her artistic talents in beauty at MAC Cosmetics. It was there that her design background coupled with her skills in makeup artistry inspired her “form meets function” aesthetic for shaping eyebrows. Zoey’s warm, friendly approach also made her a natural teacher as she took the time to show clients how to see their brow’s optimum form. After an apprentice- ship with a prominent celebrity brow artist in Beverly Hills, Zoey went out on her own, working out of Chignon Salon in Pasadena where she quickly became one of the most requested eyebrow shapers in the area. With growing demand, she opened BrauHaus Salon in 2007 featuring a staff of talented, like-minded eyebrow artists that she’s mentored in her brow philosophy. In 2010, Brauhaus was rebranded into Zoey Van Jones – Brow Salon.

ZOEY’s philosophy
I’m totally motivated by teaching people to “see it”. It takes a bit of explaining, but then you see the “aha” come across their face. It’s awesome to be able to do something that empowers people to feel better about them-selves and the way they look. In the salon, I was hoping to create an environment that’s friendly and inclusive. You should feel like you’re part of the club. It’s warm and cool at the same time. Once a client/friend said, “ZVJ is like a slumber party…” I love that! Another client/friend said, “ZVJ is like crack” (funny and true). Our clients get addicted to looking and feeling awesome – the best kind of high

FUTURE ASPIRATIONS

With the renaming of BrauHaus to Zoey Van Jones – Brow Studio, Zoey plans to expand her eyebrow philosophy. With an incredibly supportive, loyal list of 4000 clients she’s looking at growing the Pasadena location into additional space. In the near future she hopes to produce a ZVJ product line, provide online sales and booking, and create another location in Los Angeles.

What clients are saying about ZOEY
Zoey and her team are AMAZING!!! Perfect brows ALL THE TIME! Worth the price – I mean come on… your EYES need to look good… that’s the ULTIMATE 1st impression!! I’ve already booked my holiday appointments. – Lady R, Yelp
I went to Zoey Van Jones brow studio on Wednesday for the first time and I still can not believe how great my eyebrows look. My thin super light eyebrows look thick and dark, u can tell I have eyebrows. My experience was awesome. Zoey is really cool, super nice, fun to talk to. very helpful, she explains everything shes doing and how to do your eyebrows yourself from adding color to combing them. She really takes the time to make you feel comfortable and know the story of your eyebrows. Two days later and I still don’t have to color them in. They look just like the day she did them, which to me is amazing because after I use to walk out of the place that did my eyebrows before– they never looked the same again– even the next day. I also love the fact that Zoey is in Pasadena. Not only is it much more convenient than driving out to Beverly hills which was the worst, but it feels so much more relaxed and peaceful. the studio makes you feel at ease and mellow, which makes you feel comfortable. The staff is all very friendly. I absolutely loved it! thank you Zoey! finally my search for my perfect eyebrows is over : ) – Elisa, Yelp
I’ve always liked my brows, but they have a serious “wiggle” in the arch that has always made me look a bit scowly. My own home brew attempts at brow shaping have never fixed this. After a session with Zoey, who suggested tinting the outer 3rds (she says it’s typically needed by us fairer-haired types) my brows have lost the wiggle, the arches are smooth, my eyes look further apart. My brows now look serene, but still have their character. Zoey has great suggestions (take a reference photo to help you pluck as your hair grows in) – and really has an artisanal approach. Bonus: the wax used is nearly painless. For reals. – Cathy, Yelp
